9 months Before Your Wedding

  • Meet with the Minister, pre-marital counselling can be used

4 months Before Your Wedding

  • Purchase bridesmaids’ gifts

3 months Before Your Wedding

  • Enter RSVPs into your guest-list database
  • Finalise the ceremonial readings
  • Finalise the order of the ceremony and the reception
  • Print menu cards, if you like, as well as programmes
  • Send your event schedule to the vendors
  • Get your marriage pre-registration documents sorted
  • Mail the rehearsal-dinner invitations

2 months Before Your Wedding

  • Touch base again with all the vendors
  • Meet with the photographer and be sure to mention props or poses you expect
  • Review the playlist with the band or DJ
  • Check on the wedding invitations
  • Rehearsal dinner
  • Present bridal team with gifts at the rehearsal dinner. You’ll want to do this if the gifts are accessories to be worn by them during the wedding

1 month Before Your Wedding

  • Enjoy a Bachelorette Hen’s party

  • Visit the dressmaker for hopefully, your last dress fitting
  • Stock the reception bar
  • Send out as many final payments as you can
  • Confirm times for hair and makeup and all vendors
  • E-mail and print directions for drivers of transport vehicles / share GPS coordinates
  • Assign a seating reception plan
  • Write vows
  • Pick up your dress and have it steam ironed
  • Break in your wedding shoe

2 weeks Before Your Wedding

  • Get your hair cut and coloured
  • Send a timeline to the bridal party
  • Delegate small wedding-day tasks amongst your bridal party team
  • Send the final guest list to the caterer and all venues hosting your wedding-related events
  • Groom: Go for final fitting
  • Groom: Ask Bestman to ensure all Groomsmen had fittings and picked up their outfits
  • Call the limousine or car rental company for pickup times and locations
  • Arrange for guests without cars to be picked up from the airport or train station. Ask friends, assistants or family to help
  • Pack for your honeymoon
  • Have a make-up and hair trial

1 week Before Your Wedding

  • Reconfirm arrival times with vendors and all vendor are on board as schedule
  • Groom: Pick up formalware
  • Give ceremony & reception site managers schedules of vendor delivery/setup times, plus contact numbers
  • Hand the unity candle, aisle runner, place cards, table cards, menus, disposable cameras, favours and any other items for setting the tables to the wedding planner/caterer and/or reception site manager
  • Groom get your hair trimmed
  • Check in one last time with the photographer
    Enjoy a spa treatment
  • Assemble and distribute the welcome baskets for guests coming from afar
  • Provide all wedding professionals with an emergency phone number to call on the day of the wedding
  • Rehearse ceremony: Meet with wedding party, ceremony readers, immediate family and your Minister at the ceremony site to rehearse and smooth out the details

Night Before Your Wedding (we’re finally here…)

  • Surround yourself with loved ones or enjoy some quiet time alone
  • Rest is the most important secret before your big day
  • Run through the wedding ceremony and reception in your head and know that you’ve done your best and

Your Wedding Day

  • Eat a good breakfast! Allow yourself plenty of time to get ready
  • Give wedding bands to the Best man and Maid of Honour to hold during the ceremony
  • Give the Bestman the Minister’s fee envelope, to be handed off after the ceremony, unless you’ve done prior EFT
  • Introduce your reception site manager to your consultant or Maid of Honour for questions or problems during the reception
  • Assign a family member to be the photographer’s contact so he/she knows who’s who
  • Relax, smile, and soak in every amazing moment

After Wedding Day (yes the joy continues…)

  • Arrange for Bestman to return any rentals
  • Pre-plan someone to take Bride’s gown for professional cleaning
  • Enjoy your Honeymoon and deal with everything else after your honeymoon
  • Write thank you notes
  • Enjoy your live together and may you be blessed abundantly in health, wealth and happiness!
